DOCKY D ALTRUISTS 1st ANNUAL SPRING-A-THON 6.13.20
Lori’s family and friends describe her as sweet, kind, caring, and giving. She has over 20 years of experience in customer relations and team building. Lori founded Docky D Altruists in honor of her father Docky D. He set an example of helping others from the heart, with a desire to better their well being while expecting nothing in return. Lori combines her love for others and professional skills to shed much needed light on the signs of mental illness, and servicing the needs of those suffering from its effects.
Through personal experience, Lori became aware of the overwhelming impact of mental illness. Late one night in 2014, Lori thought she was having an asthma attack. After being rushed to the hospital by her sister, and spending the next several months enduring relapses of symptoms including inability to communicate and walk, Lori learned that she was suffering from acute anxiety. This journey, and subsequent effects on her life and relationships, fuels Lori’s desire to make sure everyone feels loved, and has a smile on their face. Everyone Isn’t As Fortunate As The Next; Are You In!?
Lori shares her message through fundraising events, speaking engagements, and partnerships with other organizations. Planning is currently underway for Docky D Altruists following events for the year 2020; the 1st Annual Spring-A-Thon and 3rd Annual Oldies But Goodies Sneakers Gala in support of multiple nonprofit organizations.
